Seen better yet seen worse pubs than this one. Gave the impression of a locals pub. Doombar was on when we visited and was ok. Not a place I would make a regular calling point when I'm that end of town.

Nothing to look at from the outside, in the shadow of the Ice Arena next door. Slow-moving staff attempting to serve through a knot of three or four regulars at the bar didn't make this the easiest to get served in, even at a betwixt time like 5.15 on a Saturday teatime. Perfectly good pint of Goff's White Knight as the guest beer. OK for half an hour, not the best, but not the worst.

An absolute gem. I've always loved this place. Gets busy when anything's on at the arena due to it's close proximity to it. Good beer and excellent pub grub.

Excellent food at a very reasonable price. Always good quality real ale served here.

I agree with the previous review. This is not what it seems from the outside. In fact completely the opposite. It's a relaxing, civilised, pub, with decent staff and customers and it serves real ales. It is also one of the top six pubs in Nottingham for watching buses from. If you want to watch buses, that is, but I haven't really got time for that sort of thing. Other pubs that I have found to be good to watch buses from are the Southbank on Trent Bridge and the the Falcon on Canning Circus.
