At 3.35 for a pint of Taylor's Landlord, I will be giving it a miss on my next visit to the Wheelton area.

I have made a number of visits to this pub for many years, going back a long way. Sometimes once a years, sometimes several visits a years. In all the years I have never had anyting put good service, beer and food. I cannot fault the place. I'd rather pay a bit more for quality ad comfort anyday, its not that overpriced as suggested by previous posters.

I'm surprised by some of the comments on this pub. The service is very friendly and they also seem to regularly serve up a good pint, with a fair choice of ales.

As to the food, the portions are generous - usually I find starter + main is too much - and I've always enjoyed my meals. I'm a picky eater too, I won't just eat anything. The prices, though not dirt cheap, are not the dearest in the area and I think reasonable value for money.

By the way, i don't own this pub, I'm just a punter.

Fantastic pub. Went with Michala and Jack for sunday roast 7th November 10.
Great value and great food. Venue was warm and frendly with a great atmosphere. No snooty types just nice frendly people. We have been before on numerous occations and I am glad to say has maintained its first class level. My name is Andy and I look forward to another visit soon.

Good (but overpriced) beer. Frequented by lawyers who, before the yuppy era, would probably have been gamekeepers.
