user reviews of the Coach and Horses, Strood

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

this pub is very old and a little old fashion. the staff are nearly all young girls, apart from the large guy who I belive is the owner. A mixed age group of people and quite a loud lot. I think a little more than just drinking goes on in this pub. it has an out side area which is coverd for you smokers and this has been well thought out. the service is ok nothing to shout about. if you like the old style pub that is a little tatty and not to clever on the cleaning side with staff that are not over friendly unless you drink there all the time then you would like the coach and horses.

Nice Victorian era pub. Ocasional Quiz night, OK for a rainy day.

Bar service ok ish, inside decor not bad, but but found it very boring and droll. Too many oldies and at times very quiet. Ok for Sunday afternoons

Looks larger from the outside than it actually is. The Coach & Horses by it's name and position on the old Great Dover Road leading into Rochester, is a Victorian pub that may have been built on the site of an old coaching inn. The Saloon bar is long and narrow with a raised area at the end for a pool table. Public bar is more of a square shape. Decorated in Barret showhome style the place is clean and tidy but lacks character. Customers on my visit were all working men, builders, drivers, etc of varying ages. Decent, well behaved crowd. Cask ales were decent condition Spitfire and Courage Best @ 2.50 a pint.

A fantasticly friendly pub, with both the old and yound mingling together. It has a pool table, and big screen for all your T.V. needs. regular bands, discos and quizes "puts the-head-on-the-pint!"
