This is great little local Pub with friendly staff and a great landlord. You are always made to feel welcome, food is always excellent and beer cold. Its Dog friendly and they are always met with a biscuit and fresh water.
We first discovered it whilst on route to Gatwick from the south coast it makes an ideal stop being only 3/4 of an hour away from the airport.

Have been going to The Labouring Man on and off for the past 7 years, and I live 70 miles away!! But you will not find a better Pub and Landlord in the South East of England! its not like your general noisy High Street pub that you will find in any town, it got character, style and interesting people that are all willing to talk to you even if you are a stranger.
The beer is good, but the Guinness is even greater! the Landlord and staff are all very polite, friendly and courteous and always remember your name and your drink.
The restaurant is second to none, for pub food, some top class restaurants would have a job to match it, even if you want something that is not normally on the menu like a Chateaubriand Steak, onions, mushrooms and hand cut french fries, Phil will do it for you to the Queens Grill on the QE2 `s standard!
if all of that is not enough to to get you to The Labourning Man, then why not stay the night and sample the B/B, the breakfast is the Full Monty not the pathetic breakfast that you get in some hotels! Well done The Labouring Man!!

The labouring Man is a local pub that serves its community well. A quiet pint in the evening where one can meet up with friends and hear all the local gossip is all that one needs after a busy week at work.- Of course the Ham ,Egg and Chips is very welcome.
The landlord is a fountain of all knowlege he knows who is who and who does what.
A solution can be found in the pub to most problems, whether it is your car that needs attention or your washing machine or lawn mower, even an urgent MOT can be sourced.
A great [place to unwind.

Who sez rural communities are deprived of essential services? The Labouring Man is more effective than Google in providing information about our village and its activities. The pub has a gastronomic selection of food , fine wines and a tempting array of beers and cidres.
But let me give you a secret. Ignore the menu on the blackboard, get the ear of Phil the master chef. You will be suprised how faggots and mash or freshly fried fish tastes. The labouring Man sets the standards - others can't fo;llow as there are not enough good eating places around this wonderful pub.

We had a really good meal on Sunday. Even though the pub was busy the service was really quick. It's very child friendly, and the staff were charming. The food is not cheap and the menu is short - but what there is was excellent, and they did a good value kids' size version of the main meals. Roast dinner was 12, but it was very good.
