Sadly I understand this pub us closing. Does anyone know whether it is true or not? Great pub and great landlords.

I went here on a Saturday lunchtime, it was not busy. The pub is very nice inside and the staff are friendly too. There is a nice big garden with good views too.

They have 3 real ales, IPA, Abbott and Ruddles. I tried the Ruddles, very nice it was too.

The food menu seemed poor but they have a big specials board that had nice selections on. Food was ok though but not the best I've seen. The prices were reasonable though.

They also have two budgies bird things in a cage on a table in the pub, they are not noisey though.

Everything a lunch-time local should be, friendly staff good cheap food. Ale choice is a bit limited but good quality. Garden out front could do with a make-over, but there's a nicer one out back. Used mainly by regulars from the nearby businesses, so can get busy on the last day of the month, especially if it's a Friday. Haven't a clue what it's like in the evening, I've used it for 16 years but only lunchtimes.

Great traditional pub for a quick lunch or a quiet drink in the evening in a town full of modern chains.
