Ah, good olde shite and lettuce, the boil on the backside of the British pub industry.

To be fair this particular branch isnt quite as bad as some of its deformed, hunchbacked cousins as its interior retains some features of the authentic brick walls of whatever the building was before the Devil purchased it. The location is also pretty ideal as its within stumbling distance of the tube and the staff soldier on well enough.

Unfortunately, the rest is the same old shite. Glossy bar (oddly small, as mentioned by woodies), limited overpriced booze selection, souless furnishings, clientele of painted women cackling over bottles of rosa and men who think Topman is the best place to get a suit from. One word. No.

If you really cant be bothered to walk to any other of the character filled pubs in the area they by all means stop here. And then get some punishment for being a lazy twonk. 3/10

This place is fantastic for taking a leak after scoffing down a large pasty from the shop just over the road. I usually feel obliged to buy a half when I use a pubs facilities, but I was unable too as ironically the staff seemed more concerned about looking at the new rota to see when they were all next working.

Visited this pub for 'working' lunch with some colleagues at about 1.30pm on a Monday. While the service was prompt and friendly, there was no fish and chips available, no fish pie (it follows ?) and no burgers. The optimistically named Sicilian Chicken that I ordered was due to arrive wrapped in proscuitto. Clearly they'd run out of that too as it appeared with a rasher of bacon perched upon it. Perhaps they thought I wouldn't notice the difference ? Poor...

over priced chain. stupidly small bar, but table service available. too many tables.

suprisingly quiet on a saturday evening, seems to be trying to reinvent itself as an eaterie - with table service even for drinks. It could just be that anyone with half a brain cell who is serious about their beer or just wanted something real rather than bland and corporate was around the corner in the Market Porter, where i'd just come from, very bad move on my part i felt.
