user reviews of Ceili On The Green, Willesden Green

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I have visited this pub on a few occasions lately and found it to be cheap and friendly. They are always showing live sports on big screens, have cheap beer and everytime i have visited have had good looking bar maids working which is a bonus.
I have met the landlord who seems to be a genuine guy and wants to cater for the needs of everyone the best he can.
Its the cheapest for beer in the area and i think that this is a must visit for everyone especially on a friday night!

Ceili on the Green is pretty average on looks. The only place in Willesden with any atmoshphere/looks is Ned Kellys which has been renamed No. 8. Fri and Sat nights its a buzz there. Booze is cheap there also.

The Basket and Brief has closed.

Ok, its a big shit sandwich, but we all gotta take a bite! I reckon this is the pecking order in Willesden:

Ceili On The Green - normal boozer
Flynns - normal (deserted) boozer
McGoverns - Irish
Angies III - Irish (see I and II) - Craicless
The Green - Wants-to- but fails-to-,..be anything
Ned Kelly's - Australian "mate"
The Basket and Brief - Intimidating (mostly empty)
The Spotted Dog - Shit?! - this baby ticks all boxes
Lulas - Lairy as fck.

Drinking round here is a bit like being cornered down an alley and being asked where you'd like to be hit,..You'd take a chinese burn over a broken nose,...."better than a kick in the nuts" an all that nonsense.

Has now been renamed "finbars" Catchy.

Looks like your typical scary "we don't want no English here" Irish pub from the outside, but once through the doors you'll find it's not that bad at all. Has just been done up as it was in dire need of it before. Friendly staff on the whole, good selection of beers and a darn fine pint of Guinness. Sky Sports on most of the time (or the nickleodean channel if the landlord's kids are around.) Separate pool room. Notoriously smokey, even with the newly installed fans.
