Food led pub with a good view of the castle, from the outside terrace. Brains SA, beer was much too cold and did not taste like Brains at all. Must be a tourist trap in the summer. Could pass for a Wetherspoons, if you like that kind of thing. rpf1955 - 9 May 2013 22:25 |
I started going to the court house thinking for the first four months that it was a nice place to sit and have a quiet drink but wasnt happy that after this amount of time was then asked for i.d as i am 30years old and as i dont normaly need a prove it card as sadly i dont look under 21 they now refuse 2 serve me AnnmarieCallaghan - 3 Jun 2009 23:38 |
I came to the courthouse last friday had a supposed coffee which was not very nice i complained in a polite manner and was refused another drink or my money back, but was told by consumer rights that i should not have been refused either way, so im very disapointed. carz44 - 21 Sep 2008 11:32 |
Going back a few years this used to be a great pub. A proper drinkers pub, 4 real ales, friendly atmosphere, good menu but not overtly a restaurant pub and in the large conservatory of the back of the pub, lovely views of Caerphilly Castle. Especially good on a warm summer evening when you can sit in the beer garden at the back enjoying a pint of good beer. Going back there recently, all that remains are the good views! There is now only one beer on hand pump, which is not a very good one. The food is now straight out of the microwave and has now become a foody pub and the place is crawling with chavs. Agree with the first post that it now has a Wetherspoons type atmosphere but it's not one of the better Wetherspoons. A real shame this place has been let go so badly. lovejoy - 3 Apr 2008 09:55 |
Lunchtime visit. Friendly enough, but with a sort of town Wetherspoons feel, although early quite a few apparently hardened drinkers in. Decent pint though Jimbo Smith - 8 May 2004 11:03 |
