| Visited this pub last Sunday. The place not that busy but was clearly understaffed for the customers they did have. Food appeared to be a problem as the bar staff were reluctant to provide my wife with a menu. Later one of our party asked at the bar for menu and was refused. He asked if he found a menu, would the pub take his order. He was told "not for 20 minutes". The menu gave all the usual crap about "hand cut chips" and all that jazz. My chips were no better than MacDonalds. At least at Macs they are hot and crisp not like warm and soggy. My advise is to give this place a miss and go elsewhere. | Visited the Green Man after a visit to the lacklustre Falcon Inn over the road. The Green Man is the complete opposite - a great atmosphere, friendly staff with a bit of banter, great selection of ales, nice interior with what looks like a nice outdoor area (which we didn't use as it was persisting down with rain!) and great sensibly priced food. The fish and chips IS the biggest piece of fish that we have ever seen! The burger was really tasty and the food came very quickly despite it being busy. My only gripe would be that a pint of coke costs the same as a pint of beer (�3.30!). | My "first and last" pub during my 3 months "tour" in the UK. Tasty food only found in (much) expensive restaurants, served by inforgettable staff, fabulos decoration,.... Just take a look at the monks eating pasta picture, and tell me if you don�t get hungry. | Freindly pub with large terraces, food is excellent best Scampi, BBQ Ribs and Lasagne we have ever had, not from round Denham anymore so came back as a visitor and would definately come back again. hambye - 28 Jun 2010 09:49 |
