Went for a meal Saturday 15th 2012 and was very disappointed. Food was of very poor standard. Drinks order was wrong when we ordered, mushroom starter was so overcooked everytime you tried to eat one they shot off the plate, main courses weren't much better pork dish was overcooked and the sauce was disgusting, ordered a stilton sauce with steak it arrived after we had eaten the steak and was like watery milk, chips overcooked and only took 4.00 off the bill. Think chef must have had an off night. like they say restaurant only as good as the chef in this case not very good.

Having had some really wonderful fillet steak at the Cross Keys several times before I took my wife there for a birthday meal and we were truly disappointed by the food and service under the new management. The food was mediocre but the service was really disappointing. I'm inclined to not bother going back there again.

My wife and I ate here (in the conservatory) a couple of weeks ago - food excellent if just a little pricey. Beers fine. Very much recommended.

Last time I went with the family about a month ago it was excellent, good service, helpful staff, good food, good quality.

Very dissapointing! The service was not bad, just indifferent and the girls obviously hadn't been trained to watch for when customers wanted attention. The food was expensive for the quality. Pub food at restaurant prices, and very bland. If you're not concerned about attentive service and don't mind paying for the priviledge of sitting in a conservatory rather than paying for good food, then I would recommend it.
