user reviews of the Star, Burntwood

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Positives: good company; never any trouble; twice weekly quiz nights.
Negatives: poor range of beers - no mild, except the odd barrel once or twice a year; likely to run out of regular bitters; appalling service. (The staff are like the buses - none for ten minutes (I'm not exaggerating!) .... and then four come along together.

I agree with Dave's comment. This is a nice, friendly, cosy pub which serves good food all through the day (unfortunately they stop doing food at 7.30). As with most pubs in Burntwood, the range of beers is disappointing, but the draught Grolsch is great, if you can afford it! One other slight criticism is that it was rather hot and stuffy when we last went (a mild day in December)- we were told there was some problem with the heating. A big plus is the presence of Jonathon, the former bar manager of the once-excellent Redmore Inn in Gentleshaw.

Wasnt a very nice pub before but now Ember Inns has taken over and it has been decorated in their style which is warm and cosy. Don't do food very late but have a good range of beers and the main reason I visit a lot is thats its a perfect pub to meet friends and spend all night chatting.
