user reviews of the Freemasons Tavern, South Norwood

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Other reviews may be true, I've no idea, but in 1975 this was a thriving, busy local. lovely atmosphere. I played in the darts team here, and drank most nights with great mates (where are you now, Bob Rich, etc, (and the girls of course)?) . Lots of music here in the 70's too, great atmosphere plus occasional visiting entertainers like Jim Davidson. Sigh...

Sorry to hear it went downhill in the end. Great memories - Thanks for giving me the 70's, Fremasons Arms.

Shut for good, being turned into flats. Not surprising either. It was filthy dirty, your feet stuck to the carpet, landlord always pissed, completely hopeless.

This pub is closed, has been since last year,O'Connor must have put the kiss of death on it. There are builders in now but no indications of its future.

completely off the beaten track. old. steeped in madness. on one of the saddest streets in london. framed beneath a rusting railway bridge. so why go there? because few other people do. think outside the square.
