| Fourth port of call on Saturday 18 starting at the Odd One Out, New Inn, Purple Dog and ending at the Victoria. Haven’t been in the Foresters arms for I don’t know how long, good to see it selling the wonderful Colchester Brewery beers, my mates had the No1 I think and I had the Red Diesel, we were all pretty impressed with pub and beer. | I visited this pub last week (23rd June 2011) and had a great time! It was an acoustic open mic night with some interesting musicians. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, I felt at home instantly. I was informed that it is under new management having recently been ruined by a weird bistro experiment that unsurprisingly failed. I didn't study the d�cor I am afraid, but it was all clean and new looking, I remember that much, even the gents toilets! Staff were fantastic, the other customers were open and friendly. | New owners who have revamped and redecorated the place entirely. They appear to be very new to the game, a bit over anxious to please and hope to rely very heavily on their restaurant trade. | Relaxed, slightly scruffy round the edges place - but I like pubs like that so it's not a criticism. Feels like a locals bar but not in a cliquey way. chick - 26 Jan 2009 14:24 |
