| A very pleasant surprise. To be honest, it looks a bit run down from the outside, but once inside it's really nice. Two good ales in fine condition (Marston EPA and Ushers 1824) and some quite excellent and interesting food choices. There is a really pleasant sheltered garden at the side with tables and a paddock containing goats, geese, pigs and chickens. Very limited opening hours though. Often closed by 9.30 during the week and always closes in the afternoons. Surprisingly not advertised by signage off the A1, so you wouldn't know it was there.
