Popedin for a lunchtime snack & had the best pub grub we've had for ages. My wife had a crab baguette which came in a granary baguette with delishious home made coleslaw & a side salad. My daughter had a steak & caramelised onion baguette with slaw & salad. I hade a seafood board which was crabmeat, prawns, smoked mackeral, & salmon with coleslaw, salad & a chunk of bread. The cost was 8, 7, & 10 respectively which was excellent value for what we had. I could have done with another chunk of bread to go with my huge pile of crabmeat & prawns but otherwise all the food was excellent.
I had a pint of Otter ale which was excellent. They also had draught Doombar & London Pride bitter. My wife drank a pint of Coors light which was nice on a warm day. Several other lagers & ciders were available.
The service was fast & very friendly. Highly recomended.

If you want to experience what a good traditional pub is like - this place is well worth a stopover. Excellent beer, food and very friendly locals all help to make this bar and restaurant top of the pubs in this part of the country.
I was fortunate enough to arrive here on a Sunday lunchtime and feasted on a three course meal that was one of the most delicious I have sampled for many a year. The prices were not outrageous either - with wine, less than 20 per head.
Wives and daughters need to be kept under lock and key when the smooth head waiter turns up at your table.
Only compaint is the Landlord needs to smile a little more. With the old till ringing like it does, he ought to!
