With tweed furnishings and oak panelling, this pub/hotel is now part of Daniel Thwaites with a pint of Original costing £5 last Monday evening (Gold, IPA and Brunel being the other 3 Thwaites beers with Dark Horse Hetton Pale Ale as a guest). Food was a little more pricey than other pubs (£18 for my steak and ale pie) but the clientele didn't seem to be too bothered by this and the beautiful setting and all-round excellent experience justifies spending an extra pound or two.

Staying at Masons campsite in Appletreewick up the road, we popped in here whilst on a walk along the Wharfe, thinking we'd find a little pub en route. With this being a hotel, we thought it would have just one or two beers. How wrong were we? We went inside to find a rather large selection of beers: Timothy Taylor Golden Best and Boltmaker, Theakston's Best, Copper Dragon Golden Pippin, Black Horse Hetton Pale and Wharfe Bitter. All the best new tried were on good form, particularly the Copper Dragon. Friendly staff too. Nice little find.

Very pleasant pub with a very good range of ales, mostly local in provenance. Quality food available from sandwiches up to full meals. If anything, a little too food orientated, with little room for just sitting and drinking when it's busy, unless the sun shines when there is plenty of space outside. Deservedly popular though as it is a quality pub.

Dog friendly pub in Dales village. Large, partially covered, south facing beer garden overlooking the river. Good beer and food, though, in the heights of summer, this place is a wasp magnet.

Good pub with a very good range of Ales. Copper Dragon, Theakston, Taylors Best and Taylors Golden Best on offer when we stopped. Restaurant superb, had a great meal very reasonably priced.
