user reviews of Strongroom, Shoreditch

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This used to be a great pub, if you're into music and belgian beer and we used to look forward to heading here if we were ever in the area before a gig.

Unfortunately it seems to have had a mini refurb. Where in the past they had quite a wide selection of belgian ale including Chimay Blue and Delirium Red and knowledgeble staff, when i went in recently, I had to point to the actual belgian beer i wanted as the staff member had never even heard of it and they appear to have got rid of the menus.

Not sure if they still have music on downstairs or mini music festivals (there's a large outside area with seating) in summer but the food was still good. I hope when i next return they'll have restored the previous wide selection of ales amn have staff that can at least locate them.

Nice pub, music venue and it sells good quality vegetarian food. Not a lot of ales but it does have a decent range of continental lagers and Belgian beer, quite a few available in bottles rather than on tap. Friendly atmosphere and not as expensive as some places in this part of London.
