What a gem!
Arrived for lunch on a cold wet Dartmoor day. Having walked 4 miles and 4 miles to go back.
Good food, good beer, good service. Would recommend to anybody and will visit again.

What a pub! loved our time here. camped down the road in mitchelcombe, so this was our local for the visit to dartmoor. we couldnt have asked for anything better.

a beautifull building, with a lovely wooden beamed, warm feel to the inside. the Dartmoor IPA is a special beer, and there were a few other local ales to try aswell. the food was superb, generous portions and really hearty. the service was better than good, really friendly. the chefs were having a rave up in the kitchen, dancing about to drum n bass. a nice mix of locals and walkers/visitors/campers. make it a really enjoyable place to waste an evening in.

We walked up to this lovely pub from Buckfastleigh on a rotten wet Sunday.
A lovely looking building in a sleepy part of Devon like going back in time.
Ales were very tasty.
A hidden gem for sure.

We managed to creep into this village pub just as they were about to close for the afternoon. We were followed in by another couple. So hopefully it was worth their while staying open. It's a lovely little pub in what looked like a pleasant little hamlet where very little happens. In fact, it appeared that the highlight of the afternoon was the commotion caused as the local tractor couldn't get past the parked cars. Landlord and landlady were friendly. They had 2 ales on - Dartmoor IPA & Teignworthy Gun Dog. The keg cider was Luscombe Organic. Nice pub.
