| As I walked up to this pub I thought it was closed, happily it wasn�t. It�s a real locals local, the landlord and landlady and their two kids were all in the bar. It�s a really nicely appointed pub with loads of wood panelling, wooden settles, and a slightly strange sight of drawers in the pub walls in one area. It also has a nice looking fireplace, but sadly that was all but hidden behind one of the biggest TV screens I�ve ever seen, floor to ceiling, and it was showing the BBC News! There�s also a pool table and a quiz machine. Three handpumps on the bar but only Banks�s bitter was available. I had a pint and it was OK. I had mixed feelings about this pub, it�s OK but there�s something that doesn�t quite work, and I can�t put my finger on it. ROBCamra - 18 Jun 2009 10:41 |
