Had to send the Doom Bar back as it was off. Was pulled a new pint which was better but I don't think I'll bother with the ale here again. On the plus side I enjoyed all the football memorabilia and they have a great darts set-up. Seems to have a good community feel.

Avoid at all costs!
Very unfriendly welcome by what passes as the owner. The pool table was very intrusive ,and several unsavoury types unfortunately frequent this hostelry.Say NO to the wheelwrights . :)

I stayed here on friday 16th December 2011. I paid for bed and breakfast and was told on Saturday morning that they didn't do breakfast on a Saturday?

No discount. Room had no heating, no towels and the shared shower leaked all over the floor. Bar was open til 3, the room was right above it, so the only option was to stay awake til then as there was no way I was getting any sleep.

Very disappointing. Beer was nothing special either.

THIS USED TO BE A REAL ALE PARADISE DISPENSING THE FULL RANGE OF FULLERS ALES BUT THESE DAYS ONLY HAS LONDON PRIDE ON TAP AND IT IS DECIDEDLY ROPEY.

IT SEEMS TO OPERATE MORE AS A B AND B FOR CONTRACT WORKERS THAN AS A REAL ALE PUB.....SUCH A SHAME.

Surprisingly busy on a Monday evening, possibly as it was around midnight! Served an acceptable pint of London Pride, although most of those present seemed to be drinking lager or Guinness. I might just be encouraged not to walk straight past quite so often in future.
