please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Another Sunday visit, efficient barmaid, friendly locals, 3 handpumps but only one ale, Brewdog 'Golden Grifter' [nice pint]; now has a [non-smoking] shed for patrons in the improved beer garden.

not a bad pub, quite lively on the Sunday we were in. Friendly barmaid. Smoking area to rear. Had Bootleg Brewing Co. 'Fool's Gold'; smooth & tasty.

Small pub with 2 bars. The main bar seemed to have somebody setting up for either live music, a disco or karaoke (probably the latter judging by Carlumston's previous review). The second room had a lovely warm fire and possesses a pool table and TVs showing sport. Witnessing a stool (seating type) was an unusual site in the lavatory! The 2 beers were uninspiring - John Smith's & Holts Bitter. Not a pub I would choose to return to, although well located near plenty of other pubs.

Busy two-roomed boozer with a slightly rougher edge than the rest of the popular 'Wigan Lane' circuit. Good for football and rugby and usually two ales on at any one time. Karaoke (argh!) some days of the week
