Lovely old style pub. Old Pec ale is just sublime. Great range of ales and beers to keep everyone happy. Nice home cooked food at very reasonable prices.
Thoroughly recommended visit!!

Came to visit the arberetum from ambleside cumbria, booked into this pub via the Lichfield tourist office. My husband was in heaven!! a real pub, serving real ales and homemade food! The decor was loveley, the staff very friendly and the locals too! Its always nice to find a real village pub unspoilt by the modern world AND NO SKY SPORTS YIPPEE!! If you are in the area give it a go you will not be disappointed .After several pints of palmers poison i managed to drag my husband off to bed waking early in the morning to a superb cooked breakfast!! Thankyou old peculiar, we will be back!!. DOROTHY LUND, AMBLESIDE CUMBRIA.

A nice black framed, white rendered, detached corner pub, with beer garden. Serves Theakston's beer.

The interior is open plan and has a traditional look, with beams and brick, lots of memorabilia, books, ornamentsold pictures etc on the walls. The music was subdued easy listening stuff, the service was very friendly and the clientele mid to mature! They did food but we did not eat on this occasion.

Beer; tap stuff, with Theakston's Dark Smooth MILD (fine). Handpulls saw Pedigree, with Theakston's MILD (class) and Old Peculier (class).

A sheer delight to visit and will be returning here
