Had a lovely Sunday roast in here yesterday, hot and tasty, arrived pretty promptly although there were quite a few other folks in. Staff were nice and friendly, and the place itself was good and cosy. Lots of different wines, on tap and by the bottle. If we'd had room we would have had the pudding, but the plate was massive. All in all would be a lovely place to while away an afternoon I think, will definitely be returning.

If you like lukewarm/cold food and very slow service then this is the place for you. We waited for at least half an hour for our food, and when it arrived my chips and peas were cold, the chicken was tough and looked and tasted very like turkey, my partner's chips and peas were lukewarm and his mixed grill tough and overcooked and my mother's scampi was the only meal which was hot. When asked by the waitress if we enjoyed our meal, we told her no, she apologised, but there was no sign of management to give an apology or any attempt to speak to us. Will not be returning.Agree with the reviewer above, Dobbies would have been much better

Agreed - it's not worth the effort

Avoid at all costs!

We waited an hour and a half for a completely messed up food order. They eventually managed the starters - terrible food cooked by a bunch of sixteen year olds in a microwave. The mains didn't make it and we had to get a refund.

The Manager? Couldn't manage a bath tub. Don't bother wasting your money here - go to Dobbies over the road.
