Pretty much still the same as the comment below - friendly and the ale was in good order.

Friendly landlord and landlady in New Town GK Owned pub. Only two hand pumps in use GK IPA and Abbott Ale. Not very busy for a Saturday night although not sure why they would not be. It was friendly and the ale quality was very good. I see they offer food on most lunch times and evenings. A menu was listed on a black board showing the available food. Reasonable Sunday Roasts are offered at 5.95. Several large screen TVs were on and available to view. There was also a juke box to select from. A pool table is available at the far end of the bar.

This use to be my favourite pub in Colchester and I spent many a night there up until 4 yrs ago, when I moved away.

I moved back recently, and took my missus. We sat in the beer garden only to be surrounded by rude, loud and aggressive regulars, blantently smoking weed whilst the landlord turned a blind eye.

Sad. It use to be superb.

FANTASTIC,FANTASTIC,FANTASTIC!! To see Donna and Davina back in the 'Tilly'-The Pub has come alive again-I reckon 'Cooperman' must be about too!? We all really hope you two get the full contract-you both deserve it!
