Typical chef and brewer.... Good service. Food on my visit was fine. Had a cold continental lager..... Soz ale fans.

Big C&B place. Had a pint of Andwells "Resolute", which was average. Also had a pie that was stone cold in the middle. Not much impressed.

Visited here today for our office team lunch for 11 people. Prebooked food in advance several weeks ago. Starters took 40 mins to arrive but quality was good. Mains took around another 30 minutes to come out and were very disappointing. All meals were tepid except one which was cold. The waitress did offer to reheat this one but no form of apology offered. Roast potatoes and stuffing balls were so hard you couldnt cut into them and the veg had been cooked to a mush. Puddings were reasonable. Given that there were only 2 other people in the pub service and food should have been much better. The worst food I have eaten out this year.

We eat here a lot and are rarely disappointed. Would not recommend the beef bombader pie as it used to be aproper pie but now is just some filling with a bit of pastry on top. On the whole though nice pub with reasonable food. Ham , egg and chips are very good.

A Chef & Brewer pub, with the usual C&B style interior. Three ales were on (Adnams, Hogs Back TEA and Courage Best). My TEA was OK, no great shakes. Bar was stupidly understaffed, one harrassed guy trying to cope with a snaking queue of slow-witted diners and drinkers, we waited 10 minutes for our beer which was enough to put me off making a return visit anytime soon.
