Large venue that has been refurbished as a rather soul-less family pub/restaurant. Lots of ubiquitous bare wood, down-lighting, black-shirted staff and brown leather sofas. Had a couple of ales on draught: nothing very exciting but in reasonable condition. Polite and efficient service. I was passing by on a country walk, and it was raining, so I went in. As a pub: it's not worth going out of your way to visit. Might be OK as an inoffensive and unsurprising venue for the family.

Great specials list. Really enjoyed the pie of the day. Went with my wife, and was a great place. Not too busy, not too quiet. A great atmosphere to talk and enjoy ourselves. Awesome wine selection, as ever, and the range of beers is so much better than the average pub.
The waiter was polite and had an amusing humour, fair play to him.
The spit roast chicken and thyme risotto wasn't the best, but I guess that's just to personal preference.
My wife and I will defiantly be returning at some point in the near future for another meal.
Thanks again

An okay pub if you want a meal and don't want to think about it very much. Average beers and average food: nothing to get excited about. For the size of the place (large) they have arranged the tables very poorly so that you feel you have to keep moving your chair for people sitting behind you to have enough space, which then means you don't have enough space. Some of the staff are very unsmiling. Not overly child-friendly and they won't heat baby food (even shop-bought unopened).

Appalling food - hope Trading Standards dont go in...'spit' roasted = fried/roasted, fillets = fillet. Poor value for money, overbearing antipodean waitress, didnt know food or wine.
Great place for drink and meeting friends, nice decor...

DON'T go here to eat if you're vegetarian. Despite our waiter checking with the chef that my choice of meal was as vegetarian as it appeared on the menu, it nonetheless contained pieces of shellfish (NOT included in the dish description on the menu!) Disgusting. Feeble apologies.
