One of the few options in the wilderness between Stokenchurch and Marlow, due to the glut of nearby closures over the last few years. Opened-planned, and given to both drinkers and diners, the four-ale offering is welcome, although only one is a local (Rebellion's Roasted Nuts - on very good form). Inobtrusive up-and-down background music playing during my visit, including that Texas/Wu-Tang Clan collaboration curio from the mid-90s.

We have been here again for dinner tonight and, as always, the food never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the staff are very friendly. Whenever deciding where to eat, we always end up coming back here!

Went in on a Thursday evening after work in December. Nice comfartable seating by the fire. Had Caledonian - Double Stout which was nice. Also serving Adnams - Broadside & one other.

Great ambience, super-delicious food with excellent variety on menu and friendly, courteous and quick service. No surprise that this pub won the Gastropub 2010 award. The pub itself has comfortable, old tavern furnishings with interesting bits and pieces around. What a welcome change from sterile designer settings! We had the steak pie- packed with tender meat- + really fresh veggies and fish - thick white inside and crispy delicious batter- and chips. Other more adventurous fare looks equally excellent. Joy and Carlos are excellent hosts. Service fast and courteous, even though huge party had arrived before us so we expected to have to wait but got starters and drinks within minutes of sitting down.

Comfortable with a relaxed ambience and welcoming staff. Excellent food - including a homemade pie and a pint for 10! Sofas and more formal areas together with a lovely courtyard for the smokers amongst us! The restaurant has really comfortable chairs and the service is second to none. Made to feel as if you really are the most important person there - thoroughly recommended and will continue to go back time and again! Great selection of ales and wines and the staff were able to advise what best matched the food
