Too expensive :(

Expensive, around 3.50 for some beers. The food is not cheap either. However it is very tasty. It's only recently built but in that time it's had a refurb and it benefits a lot from this. Ideal place for taking the family/friends etc. I really like it, didn't before :)

To be perfectly honest the only good thing about this pub is the decor. Yet another uninspiring Cavery pub in Barlborough, we now have 3 leaving one with the option of the Royal Oak or 10 miles drive for a nice meal.

I used to be a regular customer in the Treble Bob until it changed hands. Now, after 5 attempts, I will never go in again or until I am at least told that they have got their act together. The service is very SLOW on 5 occasions now I have gone in with family and friends and been left waiting for staff to serve us drinks, allocate us a table or greet us. Very disappointing and as the most expensive pub in Barlborough a real let down.

If you want a Carvery go up the road and get the same thing for half the price.

This is a fairly recently built pub/restaurant, on a new retail & residential plot on the A619 at M1,J30.
***
It is quite a large building with a considerable parking area, which also caters for the adjacent Ibis hotel. It also has plenty of outside seating, with benches & tables.
***
Inside, there is a fair sized bar area, combined with a larger restaurant. The area is spacious and open plan with some partitioning. Very clean and smart. It is softly lit, with pleasant background music. Ideal for dining or quiet conversation. It has a slightly up-market feel to it. The bar area has table and sofa seating for about 50. There is an open fireplace with coal-fired stove. The restaurant area has seating for about 150. The tables are well spaced, providing a degree of privacy.
***
There is an extensive menu. All-day carvery at 6.95 mon-sat, 7.95 sun, with 3 roasts and help-yourself veg. Starters & deserts for around 4. Mains for around 8, steaks at around 10-17. There is also a special deal for over-50s, with 2 courses for 5.95 at certain times. There are the usual selection of drinks, with 3 cask ales on. Spitfire, Youngs Special, and Wadworth 6X. We had the 6X at 2.50/pint, which was on form [and carefully topped up I might add!].

verdict :
This would be a nice place for a special occasion or intimate dinner. Very pleasant and spotlessly clean.
Slightly pricey for the area, but with cask ales thrown in, an 8 from me.
