user reviews of Harvies Showbar, Paisley

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A 10 minute walk out of Paisley and possibly worth the walk is where you will find Harvies Bar, but don't expect too much in the way of real ales.

There are 2 hand pumps dispensing 1 ale which was Golden Hops though I am unsure who the brewery are.

Pretty busy with the crowd being mainly male, same as most of the other pubs I'd been in locally with the television's on as well as music playing.

Friendly barmaids, nice relaxed atmosphere but lacking in ale choice, however it's a bit of a gem & worth going out of your way for.

Great pub.
My local too.
Like popping in here for a drink after work on a Saturday afternoon.
Nice staff in here too (although bizarrely they don't accept tips!)

Very clean pub, nice chairs, and a decent bar.

Not a bad place...staff are friendly enough and they serve a good range of drinks at reasonable price. The one downside is the crap MTV they have blaring out on two plasma screens...not really everyone's taste and there doesn't seem to be any variation in the channel shown. Despite that, this is probably the closest pub I have to a "local" since I moved up to Scotland 6 months ago.
