| First time we've been to this pub in 35 years. We were the first customers to arrive on a freezing yet sunny winters day. Real ales were Courage Best and Harveys. Now I hate having the first pints drawn from a handpump as the stuff in the pipes has most probably been standing there since last night, and neither of the beers were brilliant. Not bad enough to complain about but not as they should be. The log fire and surrounding were excellent as were the attentive bar staff. The food was terrific, home made pies of the best quality. | Not been here for a while, I liked the new look. The food was as good as ever and the ales were all but one tip top. I often found this place a bit hit and miss for beer quality, it seems not everything has changed but overall it's a very good pub! old_windbag - 15 Mar 2011 12:46 |

| Called in for a quick beer and found the place to have had a face lift. Very good decor and comfy seats. Food looked good & prices fair. Beers on: Courage best, spitfire & Hoggs Back TEA which was superb. Love what has been done to the place. MollyMG - 16 Nov 2009 22:36 |
