user reviews of the Buccaneer, Barry

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

No longer called the Buccaneer but called the Buck.

No longer part of Smith and Jones but independant licensee.

Great pub now. Well worth a visit especially for the Sunday carvery.

soul destroying - just pop along to watch the dregs of Barry smoking and drinking their lifes away - I wish they'd give them a smoking area of the high street so we dont have to see them. Guaranteed to see a fight on any day of the week - honestly, the closest place to the "Star Wars bar" you will find outside of Tatooine. 1/10

Decent average pub in an area of sub standard pubs

Cheapest and cleanest pub in the town by far! Nice new menu that caters for everyone. Children recently allowed in and good to see the dress code has been taken away. Friendy staff.

A disappointment after visiting various Varsity/Smith and Jones/Barracuda around the country. Food area at the back was soulless and deserted, bar area had deafeningly loud noise blaring. Had Brains SA on handpull but drip tray was empty so I settled for a Newkey Brown. Needs someone like the landlord of the Assembly Bristol to knock the place into shape.
