| Looked like a nice pub so popped in after a day walking in the Chilterns. Immediately knew it was a mistake by the surly service and extortionate prices. Pint of Becks - �5.15 and it wasn't very good. Couple came in a few minutes after us and were obviously friends with the bar staff. | This pub is now just a restaurant and they dont serve beer without a meal. Gone is the charming character of this little country pub, all redecorated and refurbished into oblivion. All thats left are a few randomly placed horsebrasses on the wall. Even the fireplace has candles in it now. The food was good and the service slick, but not much change out of 100 quid for two with wine. I had cornish calamari which would have been perfect were it not for the heavy vinagrette dressing which drowned the flavour, followed by rabbit which was excellent.
