user reviews of Heath Farm, Congleton

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Having been to Heath Farm several times in the past, myself and my 3 friends thought it to be a good choice for a Sunday evening meal. Clearly not. We were told that the wait for the food we ordered would be 30mins, which we didn't consider unreasonable as this is usually how long it would be in other establishments. 50 minutes later however, we were wishing we were in aforementioned other establishment as we may actually have been fed! My friend went to the bar and was offered no explanation nor apology for the the food taking almost double the orignal time expected. When it did finally come out myself and my friend were told by the waitress that there was no cheese. We had ordered a dish where cheese was a main ingredient and were only told there was no cheese when it was put in front of us. Not only should we have been told this when we ordered, it is ridiculous for anywhere that serves food to run out of something as basic as CHEESE, a component of most regular household fridges. Another of my friends ordered gammon-and was lucky to get any gammon off it as it was mostly fat! When we told the waitress that actually, we weren't happy with our meals she went to speak to the 'chef'. (In my opinion, not much of one!) She offered us a free sharing desert which we reluctantly accepted. The desert itself was missing half of the contents that it should have had and had we paid the 6.55 for it, that too would have been complained about. Whilst we were there we heard at least five other parties complaining about their service as well. Overall, the food and the service was very disappointing. The only apology we received was from the waitress, whon was probably the only person not actually to blame. Unless I hear that Heath Farm is under completely new management with a new chef then I certainly won't be going there, and neither will my friends. Absolute shambles.
