user reviews of the Feathers, Burnham

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Situated between Bourne End and Burnham opposite the infamous Cliveden estate, The Feathers has all the trappings of a gastropub, but four ales on the handpumps holds them in good stead and the friendly staff were another plus point.

Visited for lunch today. A pleasant pub with nice interior and exterior and a good selection of ale.
Sat outside to eat (which is table service). We took a menu out with us and chose something from the lunch deal menu, which had really good choices at a really good price.
The service was a tad slow to actually take our order but the food delivery wasn't painfully slow - sometimes it's nice to take your time when eating.
Good value and good quality food and when we are back in the area we shall definitely try and come back here again.

This is Punch's idea of what a gastro pub should resemble (oh, don't be fooled by that Pub & Kitchen Company title, it's Punch Taverns managed arm).

Manager Michael is trying hard with staff who need more guidance. The food can take ages to appear. When it does, it's good but to compete with the Crown, Bray, White Oak, Cookham or Greene Oak, Windsor, there is much improvement required.

This weeks BOGOF offer underscores the problem here.

A smart interesting place that is more restaurant than pub, having said that it had 3 real ales on, Pride and 2 Rebellion beers, all in good condition. The food is slightly up market pub food which was nicely cooked and well presented. We will certainly go back.
