| Best of the 4 pubs in Beddgelert. Had a refreshing pint of their summer ale (3.5%) at the weekend and it also does Double Hop (5%) if you've got a chauffeur. A few benches outside, though they don't catch the sun until around 4pm, but you can sit there and watch the chavs waddle between their illegally parked cars, the fudge shop and the ice cream parlour. In the evening the place fills up with the types who think they're Scott of the Antarctic, just because they've been up Snowdon on one of the more difficult paths. Serves reasonable pub grub, nothing fancy and not too dear. Lamb shank recommended. For a pub in a very rural area, I am surprised it doesn't allow dogs, even though the place is happy enough to supply beer to the dog show in the adjoing field. Lose 2 marks. Another, mark lost because in, in keeping with virtually every other pub in Snowdonia, you can't get anything to eat between dinner time and teatime, not even a sandwich. son_of_odin - 1 Sep 2010 13:01 |
