| Had a lunch and a pint with my son - meals were hearty in size and quality was fine - very fresh salad/veg and prices were cheaper than recent visits to other pubs in the vicinity. | Went here at lunchtime with another couple, there were 4 ales on the handles, my 6X was excellent. Although this pub has had some redecoration in the recent past, it still retains its character as a country pub made like they used to! We all had different items from the menu which had a good selection and the prices were most reasonable. All meals were plentiful and of good quality. There were not may others in the bars, although there were a number sitting outside in the sunshine - didn't see anyone who could be described as pikeys.
