Unexciting and a bit rough. Plenty of better pubs in Derby.

Until a couple of years ago was a great pub, especially for all day sunday drinking. Landlord was a diamond who spoke to everyone. There was great karioke or those two guys who do the comedy act round Derby pubs....who are they I can't remember....little funny bloke and fat Scottish bloke doing the ad-libs.....hilarious though. Also frequented by lots of lovely nurse ladies from the nurses home up the road. I'll never forget the pyjama party as long as I live.

The present landlord (never seen him) thinks a pub can run itself with a couple of cash in hand benefit claimants working the bar. This place is a sad reflection of what it used to be. I wouldn't bother.

Awful pub with infrequent real ale on (often pedigree).

Rude and aggressive bar and door staff along with interesting clientele make this place on a par with the Crown and Cushion i.e. "a local pub for local people with poor taste in karaoke and beer"

Shame, as during the day it was steady with the now disappearing hospital staff

A rather garishly decorated exterior with posters and banners extolling the virtues of upcoming events and attractions. Normally a place that I would stay away from but it did claim to be a Free House so I thought Id give it a go. They had two or three beers on but not of the type that I would say justified the Free House claim. It was around lunchtime when I went in and the focus was clearly on food, it looks as if they get a lot of business from the Derby Royal Infirmary next door (hence the name I guess). Bar staff polite and friendly and overall excellent customer service.
