user reviews of the Talbot Inn, Kidderminster

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Nice pub. very smart and unusual interior - a lot of copper and wood.

This is a very historic pub and deserves to survive.

One point though........it's named after a dog (and the Grafton Talbots) and is the venue for the Albrighton Woodland New Year hunt.

.......so why "no dogs allowed"? It takes away some appeal and stops it qualifying as a REAL PUB.

We would make it our local but travel to Drayton, Dodford and Bournheath instead because of this.

Popular for food, with a restaurant upstairs, though you can eat in the lounge or bar. Food is pretty good, with an extensive menu (including several veggie options) reasonably-priced. Panelled and beamed bars with log fires (inexplicably one wasnt lit on probably the coldest day of the year !) Feels rather food-oriented but beers are given attention too - Bankss bitter and mild, plus two guests - one was a porter when we called. All three pubs in Chaddesley are in GBG.

Staff excellent, beer good, but in the last 18 months the food has not been as good as it once was.

I visited this lovely friendly pub in July 07 and suggested it for this site then. It had good real ales on offer in pleasant surroundings and the food was good too.
