| Situated in an offshoot to a road running through a housing estate, The Gardeners Arms is certainly oddly-placed. As a Meet & Eat establishment, there's little to make it stand out on its own (hide-wrapped TVs notwithstanding) and the ale selection is somewhat leaden. | A grand brewer's Tudor style pub that is run down and feels unloved. There's all the right things there to make it worthwhile - a huge garden, function room, TV sports, darts etc - but it just doesn't pull it off in any way. The beer is GK (usually IPA) which is variable. Bogs are disgraceful. Punters often a bit iffy. Could be good in right hands, but isn't currently. Don't bother. Quinno - 21 Jan 2009 21:15 |
