ok so it has an impressive beer garden and its great that its still one of a few real traditional pubs left that hasn't been modernised and had the heart and soul ripped out of it. However the staff have about as much charisma as a dead slug and the food when you can get it is very bland and uninspiring. If your in Yarm and hungry there are better places to try. Ok for a beer though.

Great pub when it's not crowded. Good choice of real ale with Timothy Taylor and Bass on tap, nice bar staff, good food. A good choice for a leisurely daytime drink when it's not so busy

Just too busy for me. no point going in on a tuesday, friday or saturday if you want to be served within 30 minutes. Massively crowded at the bar because of the capacity of the beer garden.

The now have Timmy Taylor Landlord as well as the 'best pint of bass in the country' as was claimed.

Supposed to be the best pub in yarm. This is only true by the size of the queue at weekends. It is probly best for atmospere but this can reflect in the time you spend at the bar, which is often 10 mins plus. great garden with gas heaters for cold nights and top totty too. Overcrowding is the only reason that i rate this lower than the george.

Probably the most popular pub in yarm, and the only one which attracts a queue.

It's a good pub and despite the overcrowding it's relatively easy to get served, seems to attract an older crowd.

Great beer garden though!
