This large pub, which has a very big garden, has improved recently. New management has discouraged the racists that used to go there and there is a more representative mix of people now. It is in a residential area not far from Acton Park and near The Park Club. Lunch is good pub fare, such as baguettes overflowing with fillings plus chips and regular pub and breakfast type meals. The function room has been re-decorated (it used to be dire and dank) and cut in half and dinners can look outover the garden. The decor is very ordinary. There is snooker or pool and lots of screens for football around the bar. I only drink wine but that it is drinkable.

The garden is the obvious reason to go to here - it's massive. The inside is a bit drab despite having been refurbed a couple of times but good enough to watch football although I'd stick another screen in. Beer is quite reasonably priced although paying 2.27 a pint is just annoying as you end with a pocket full of copper shite. Food is fairly standard for a Barras pub and while they won't be bothering the Michellin guides any time soon it'll fill a hole. The only other complaint I've had is they've run out of glasses/beer once or twice when it's been hot or something like the world cup is on. Otherwise, better than your average.

looking good! have to say that since the new manager took over, this place is now a lot better!
the staff are still nice, and helpful. the place is cleaner, and the whole pub now has a welcoming feeling that was missing with the last manager!
so whatever the new manager is doing is working! keep up the good work!

The goldsmiths arms has just got new management and has improved. The staff are friendly and very happy to help with anything they can. Their garden is a wonderful place to sit and eat your food with your kids. its a brilliant place to visit.
