| Almost 4 years on from my last visit, our last stop before heading to the football was the West Herts Sports Club. Being later in the afternoon, it was much busier than on my last visit. Nevertheless, we managed to find a seat. Service was also quick. The two regular ales were Tring Side Pocket For A Toad & Young's Bitter. The 2 guests were both from Paradigm - Heads Up & Back Burner. There was also a perry in the fridge - Apple Cottage Perry Coma, which was a new one for me. | Sports club on the site of Watford's first football pitches. It was still fairly lively on my Saturday morning visit with several kids games going on. There are outdoor tables on a patio overlooking the fields. A smattering of people were present in the bar. But many were drinking tea and coffee. The barmaid was fairly bubbly. Shame she supported Liverpool. Ales on were Colchester No. 1 & Diesel, Burton Bridge Howelling Ale, Youngs Bitter & Shepherd Neame Spitfire Gold. CAMRA members are welcome and the chances are you won't have to show your card. TVs were showing Sky Sports News and all BT Sports matches were promoted. | Modern and clean sports club with an emphasis on cricket. Unlike those who found the staff rude and unpleasant in December 2013, I found the club to be welcoming - at least to those like myself who carry a copy of the CAMRA Good Pubs Guide, Five real ales on offer and comfortable seats to watch the England vs West Indies cricket. | This sports club bar has been an oasis of real beer for getting on for 40 years. It carried the torch for real ale long before it had any kind of presence in pubs. In November each year it hosts the Watford CAMRA branch beer festival. It is a members bar, guests can be signed in. | All of these comments are very untrue and highly upsetting towards all members of staff at West Herts Sports Club. This is also classed as cyber abuse and is going to be forwarded to the appropriate people who will be able to deal with this. I do not believe that anyone could be so low and make up sick nasty lies to hurt others or to try and ruin someone else career. There is clearly a link between all comments made in December as all accounts have been made just to comment about the sports club. Alongside this, it is NOT a tennis club it is a sports club!
