went in for lunch today en route from the land of my fathers back to the smoke. was feeling a little tender after a wedding party, so was unable to sample any of the three arkells ales, but looked like the kind of place that would take care of it. had an excellent fish and chips though, which like the girlfriend's lasagna was home made, generous and tasty. very friendly welcome too, although we were suprised to be the only diners at 3pm on a hot sunday afternoon. we will return for lunch next time we're on the M4.

My wife and I found this gem of a pub by chance on The way to Bristol two weeks ago. The food is excellent with generous portions. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I was so impressed I took my daughters there today on a trip back from Swansea and they were equally delighted by the pub. You can find this pub just off J15 of the M4. First exit if you are travelling towards Bristol.

have now revisted several times and what a difference when the manager is not around, food almost out of a different kitchen and staff are more interested in talking in the bar than serving. shame as when its good its good. did we just get a good night?

Fantastic little pub, good honest food at very sensible prices. Wine menu simple but effective, service friendly and punctual. Warm, cosy and definately worth a return visit.

Traditional Arkells pub (a bit of a tautology, I suppose) but none the worse for that. Very handy for Junction 15 of the M4 if you are looking to break your journey.
