| Gone down hill in the days since I was a Cardiff student. Used to be very dim, dark smoky and generally 'olde worlde', with a couple of real ales on tap - now is light, modern, trendy and generally just like the hundreds of other bars in the Cathays area and city centre. You can only gain entry with a student card in the evenings (Cardiff alumni are eligable for life-long membership of the Students' Union) - however should you wish to go in during the day when it's quiet, nobody will ask to see a card.
