This is another town OASIS 'pub', actually a bar in a hotel, this time in Matlock Bath, somewhat hidden away higher up above Main Street. The ales (3 on) are usually local brews and are in absolutely top condition. On a Sunday this town is overtaken by motorcyclists, hundreds, if not 1000s, of them line the streets. It is a biker's Mecca for twistys and a meeting place converging from several large surrounding cities ie Derby, Manchester etc..

Well worth the hike up the steep hill, a very marvellous pint of Blue Monkey Evolution.

I don't see why this pub is listed with all the other pubs in Bath, Somerset, when it is miles away in Derbyshire.

Landlord and staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the beers and always keeps a good selection on. Brew Dog from Fraserborough always seems to go down well as does any of the (slightly more local) Blue Monkey and Thornbridge.

Never eaten there but the food always looks good. If you are a real ale enthusiast and ever in Matlock Bath, it is worth the walk up the hill as you are away from the tourist area an will find yourself in a nice and friendly hostelry.

Good pub with good quality ale.
friendly staff who seemed to know their stuff.
The pump clips around the place shows the great ales that pass through.
