Dropped in here this week. Not much of a pub really, they were offering the usual Ringwood (Marstons or Wolverhampton and Dudley, what ever name their using now a days) and the very bland Doom Bar. Would I visit again? No.

Popped in the other day, saw a line of handles and was immediately drawn to the Ringwood 49 which was excellent. Didn't try the food this time, but may be back some other day to give it a try. The only difference I noticed in the right hand side of the pub (viewed from the entrance) was a leather sofa and chairs, the rest of the furniture was varying tables and chairs. Presume the dining side was on the left hand side of the entrance but in my haste for a drink i didn't give it the once over or try the food.

Just visited this reopened pub, 6 Real Ales on 4 from Marstons stable plus Brains SA and a Downton beer. Much improved and a lot cleaner than my last visit, Prices in line with other local pubs. Although food driven there is a clear divide between drinking and eating area. Mainly young but friendly staff, both beers I had were excellent as was the food from a varied and imaginative menu at reasonable prices, including many dishes with a small or large option to suit appitite. I will be visiting again soon.

Pub is due to be taken over later this month whereupon, after total refurbishment, it's planned to re-open in early October.

Good pint of Ringwood, friendly staff. Most of the pub given over to dining tables although a reasonable area if you're just there for a drink as well. Fairly priced, traditional food. My favourite of the Ashurst pubs.
