Alas - the Chevy has been sold and closed in June 2010. It is currently being renovated, I understand to be a hairdressers with a Russian owner. However, you know how these rumours get around - I think we'll just wait to see what becomes of it - such a shame really.

Rumour has it that the owner of the Thailander, (formerly Bacchus) Mr Khan, has put a bid in for the Chevy.

He sub-let the Thailander, turning it into a Lithuanian drinking den. Subject to planning, he may expand which means the Chevy will close.

Losing the Chevy would be a tragedy. It has had a succession of great landlords and landlady's as well as some real characters as customers. As nice as Mr Khan may be, tee total Muslims are as good at being a publican as Vegans are at being butchers.

Let's hope PJ can hang on in there.

sigma80 - no sorry you are wrong but again I do know who you think I am. It's amazing really that I have to be one of these women in order to put a comment on here. I can assure you that I'm not related, dating, married to or anything similar to the owners or the manager. Just a really long standing customer. If any of you want an update - I was in there St Pat's night and it's doing extremely well. The Chevy and the Cart & horses across the way now sponsor the local uni camogie, hurling, football teams. However the chevy is up for sale.

Not a singer in the chevy chase, a regular fiddle player though, am I wrong? I think not.

A bit unfair for the partner of the landlord to write a 'review' sounded more like an advert to me.

I think this time, you have been rumbled.

I have recently started using this pub on a fairly regular basis and have to say I always feel welcomed by the staff and regulars. No pub is perfect but then you will never have the perfect pub that everyone likes!! If you just want a friendly chat, a bit of craic and banter and decent beer then this is your place. All nationalities are welcome especially if they make an effort to join in. If you choose to sit alone in the corner to read your paper then maybe this is not the pub for you.
