From the outside it looks like the set of the Albanian version of "Crossroads". Inside the decor is suitably Little England with pictures of Winston Churchill etc and there is an ample beer garden overlooking the carpark. Usually busy with oldsters and families there for the cheap and plentiful stodge, so far, so expected but,... everytime I have been in here the beer has been perfect. I usually have the Butcombe, my favourite and it is only 2.25 (not chilled), with prompt polite service. Great!

From the outside this place looks dreadful really really run down. Inside is alot better although it really is'nt my kind of pub. The carvery was acceptable though and at a good price . 6/10

A large Toby Carvery and hotel perched on a major traffic island. The exterior is of stone, with a salmony colour rendering.

The interior is a little shabby. Open plan, it takes in a bar area and a larger dining area. The walls were of red, green and white, with some wood panel, with lots of memorabilia and pictures covering all kinds of things, including lots of TV (from Dr Who to 60s adverts). The service was a bit slow, due to staff shoratge (they said), but i felt it was OK. The food was actually better than i thought, as it is a cheap enough meal. It was rammed.

Beer; usual tap stuff, with Everard Tiger, Butcombe Bitter and St Austell Tribute (which was a bit lifeless).

A better experience than i thought it was going to be.

i went to the exeter arms for bank holiday weekend with 6 of my mates. it looks like a crap hole on the outside and its not much better on the inside. it was 6 o clock and we were getting ready to go out, we got told to turn the music down, so we did, ( even tho it wasnt loud, and its was really early ) next min they tell us to get out of there hotel!!!! the way they went about it was dreadfull, they were talking crap, they had no manners what so ever. they got the police involed and they really didnt need to!!!! we had to sleep on the street that night, not the kind of birthday my mate was thinking of having!!!! we didnt get any money back, even tho we were only there 4 3 hours!!!! ive never ever bin treated in this way by so called " staff " before. i would not go there ever again, i hope loads of people read this, otherwise you could be making a big mistake!!!!!!!!! look out for the little blonde gay boy that works there, he looks though the windows at you!!!!!!!
