Not very welcoming.
Arrived late afternoon in May with friends after crossing the Tarr steps and asked for teas & coffees. Got told not possible as she had turned the machine off for cleaning, my American friend asked again - it's just a coffee!
We were told that it would be possible in about 45 minutes. We left, we won't be back.

Just been there again and it's still good. Dog-friendly too.

This is such a wonderful place. Although it gets busy and crowded in the summer with picnickers and trippers and children splashing in the river, in autumn it is cosy and welcomming and a delight to visit.

Not in Dulverton

Contrary to one of the earlier reviews, you can use the car park opposite the pub if you're using the pub. This is well worth doing, not just for the easy parking but also for the great atmosphere, the very good food and the local ales. This pub could so easily be just another rip-off joint in a tourist hot-spot, but to the owners' great credit they provide a quality service and good value for money.

Not in Dulverton, but right at the Tarr Steps.

Well worth investigating if out walking in that part of the Exmoor. They open early-ish for coffe or tea's etc. In good weather the garden is very nice with a view of the glen.
