Popped in here for lunch whilst working in the area. Very good food, a decent pint and friendly staff. GaryB007 - 18 Jun 2013 19:28 |
Had a nice walk in the woods behind the pub before having a late afternoon meal with family. Service was very welcoming and food nice if a little overcooked. Tried the Marstons - Single Hop Wai-iti beer which was different but still served well. Beer_Spotter - 29 Jan 2012 19:47 |
Popped in while waiting for my takeaway on a quiet Sunday evening. Pint was fine and it seemed inviting and friendly, Nice interior and I hear the food is good as well. I agree it is a shame the name has changed, however don't let that put you off. EdBeery - 11 May 2011 09:33 |
What a great place, not only is the beer good, but the food is superb as well - the total opposite to the sister pub The Exchequer in Crookham Village (see my review). Friendly staff and good service - don't be put off by the rather odd name of the place, will definitely use again - highly recommended. Bobby53 - 26 Jul 2010 13:36 |
Unfortunately this old pub. has been renamed The Hoggett!! What a GHASTLY name! It has been the Dorchester Arms for a long time --there is an old photograph in the foyer which must be at least 100 years old and it is clearly named in the photo. as The Dorchester Arms. Why on earth did the new owners want to change the name? The Dorchester Arms sounds classy--The Hoggett sounds rough. Has the local history society complained about this change of name? They ought to! I won't be going there unless the name is changed back. gingerbiscuits - 4 Jan 2010 07:53 |
